Cosmetic Eye Procedures Can Make You Look Better, Feel Better.
As a comprehensive eye care resource, Drs. Campbell, Cunningham, Taylor & Haun offers a wide range of cosmetic eye procedures. In some cases, these are done to repair damage from injury or disease, or to improve a patient’s vision. But we also perform a number of cosmetic eye surgery procedures to enhance our patients’ appearances and self-confidence. Cosmetic Ophthalmology includes a number of areas: eyelid rejuvenation, wrinkle removal, and eyelash enhancement. Techniques are used to make patients look more youthful, healthier, and more attractive. And because eyes and the tissues surrounding them are extremely delicate and complex, our Ophthalmologists have special expertise that is particularly suited for this type of cosmetic surgery.
Eyelid Rejuvenation
Eyelid rejuvenation and restoration procedures can be used to address a variety of issues. Loose skin and excess fat can be removed to provide the patient with a more youthful look. In many cases, drooping eyelids may also affect vision, so treatment may mean a clearer, more complete view of the world. Surgery can help when weak muscles cause eyelids to droop, or when eyelids or turned inward or outward. Procedures can even help with spasms that cause eyes to close involuntarily.
Wrinkles And Twitching
A common treatment for wrinkles can help many patients eliminate twitching and other nerve issues that may affect vision. Prescription BOTOX® treatments are used by our surgeons to calm muscles around the eyes that cause spasms, thus improving vision and quality of life. This often helps patients reduce fatigue and improve job performance. BOTOX treatments are also used to smooth wrinkles, crevices and folds around the eyes, giving the patient and more youthful appearance and more personal confidence.
Eyelash Enhancement
Eyelashes serve two purposes—they protect the eye and they are considered part of the eye’s natural beauty. When people have diminished eyelash growth, Latisse®, the only FDA-approved prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (inadequate eyelashes), is used. Latisse can help patients grow longer, thicker, and darker lashes. A solution is applied to the base of the eyelids and over time, results should demonstrate longer, thicker eye lashes. Some cosmetic procedures may be considered vision-related and therefore could be covered by insurance. Learn more about our cosmetic procedures by clicking here.
