Eye Exams in Knoxville

Regular eye exams are the very best way to protect your eyes – even if you aren’t having any vision problems. Some eye diseases don’t have symptoms in the early stages, but these can be identified during routine eye exams. The sooner you get treatment, the better chance you’ll have at preserving your vision. Be sure to share any vision concerns, symptoms you may be having and family history of eye disease with your eye doctor.

$135 Eye Exams without Dilation

When your eyes are dilated during an eye exam, you may need to have someone drive you home if it takes your pupils a long time to return to normal size. We offer dilation-free eye exams that still provide a comprehensive assessment of your eye health without the hassles of blurry vision after your appointment.

Eye Exam Tests

During an eye exam, we may perform some of these tests:

  • Current refractive error measurement using retinoscopy (to identify nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism)
  • Optical coherence tomography to take cross-section pictures of your retina
  • Matrix visual field to detect blind spots
  • Retinal photography to take a high-resolution photo of your retina
  • Endothelial microscopy to assess the inner layer of your cornea
  • Oculus Pentacam to take photos of your cornea, crystalline lens and anterior chamber
  • Optomap for retinal imaging
  • Eye pressure measurement to identify glaucoma
  • Eye health using a silt-lamp
  • Eye misalignment using cover tests

Our doctors may even detect signs of other health problems during routine exams such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer and other medical conditions.
