In Memoriam

We are honored to have served East Tennessee with eye care since 1952. Over the years, there have been many individuals who helped make our practice a success. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize the physicians who have passed away but who remain an important part of our history and are greatly missed by our team.

J. Ed Campbell, M.D.

Dr. Campbell was born in Kalamazoo, MI. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1946 and he founded our practice in 1952. Today, his grandson, Eric Sollenberger, M.D, is proud to continue his grandfather’s legacy here at Drs. Campbell, Cunningham, Taylor & Haun. Dr. Campbell was part of our team from 1952 to 1998.

William J. McCoy III, M.D.

Dr. McCoy was born in Knoxville, TN. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1955. He served his internship at the United States Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA, and the United States Naval School of Aviation Medicine in Pensacola, FL. Dr. McCoy was part of our team from 1969 to 1994.

Shawn, Molloy, O.D.

Dr. Molloy was born in McMinnville, TN. He received his medical degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. After attending a continuing education course taught by Dr. Les Cunningham, he was invited to work for our practice as an optometrist. Dr. Molloy was part of our team from 1999 to 2020.

Reese Patterson, M.D.

Dr. Patterson was born in Knoxville, TN. He received pre-med training during World War II at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1948. He served two years on the United States Air Force Tour of Duty during the Korean War at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippine Islands. Dr. Patterson was part of our team from 1957 to 1987.
